8-22-02 :

Just wanted to point out that I've summarized Volume 14 chapter 4, so now, there should be no translation gaps from Vol.1 to Vol.16. Those of you who haven't read V.15 yet should go read it now! Those who have read it already should read it again! It's got everything: sex, suicide, mental breakdowns, and Ageha cuts his hair!!!

For all the doujinshi fans out there, I've also added Akane Iwai's Japanese Basara site: more than RED to the links page. Be sure to check out her doujinshi section. She's published quite a few Basara doujinshi, and she's selling her latest one "Sterling Silver," which mixes the Basara cast with the CHICAGO plot, and vice versa. In case you're wondering, CHICAGO is another manga by Basara's author. It's being published in Animerica Extra right now.

7-25-02 :

Volume 13 chapter 2 is translated! Not by me, but by an awesome new translator, who works super fast! Hurray! I've also posted the volume 14 translations from Fuuko's Star Crossed website. The sooner we catch up to volume 15, the better!

Yay! Memorial Day weekend is here. To celebrate, here is the third chapter of volume 10. Now I'm gonna to go and let loose.

Second chapter of volume 10 is done. Hopefully, third chapter can be done before the weekend.

5-14-02 :

And two months later, a new chapter is finished. I went back and finished the first chapter of volume 10 (sorry Talyssa ^^;). Why no volume 13? Well, I kinda lost it, along with my Tokimeki Tonight manga stash, during the move. It's on order now... Anyway, the rest of vol.10 will follow soon, I hope. I also removed most of the links to my dead server. By the way, work is killing me T_T

3-26-02 :

I'll be moving for the next couple weeks, so there will be no updates for a while. Furthermore, the music & manga files will be unavailable until I get settled down. Sorry about all this, but such is life.

3-14-02 :

Finished volume 13 chapter 1. That concludes the Hokkaidô arc. Woo-hoo! The next story arc is a really good one, in my opinion. I can't wait to start on it.

I also went over my old translations, again (I'm never happy), put up some better scans in the anime vs. manga section, and updated the where to buy manga section. So many manga stores. So little cash. T_T

3-6-02 :

Finished translating volume 12. And I got the Basara DVD set from Japan! I'm so pleased with it. It comes with a booklet of illustrations. And there's a behind-the-scenes feature that shows how they made the anime. It's pretty interesting, even if I can't understand what they're saying. My favorite part is when they show Yumi Tamura in action, drawing a sketch of Shuri & Sarasa. Very nice.

2-8-02 :

I'm done with the last chapter of vol.11. And more good news: Rebecca of Midnight Expresso Studios finally finished her Basara music video. Go to her site and check it out.

2-7-02 :

Finished more of volume 11, specifically chapters two, three, and four. Poor poor Ageha...

And manga project has finished the 1st chapter of vol.4.

2-5-02 :

Volume 10 chapter 4 and volume 11 chapter 1 are done! And now we're onto a new story arc! Ageha gets a lot of showtime in this one, but the stuff he goes through... >_< (Tamura-san makes the Northeast look sooooo fricking weeeiiirrrd~~~~)

I've corrected all the translations for manga volumes 7 & 8 (to the best of my abilities). Good thing too, because the old scripts were chockful of errors.

Added Ruliann's TamuTamu translations to all the volume 9 chapters. And changed all the "Turquoise" chapter names to "Verdigris," for accuracy sake.

Odyssey Anime, the group that introduced Basara to many after subbing the anime, is finally shutting down. They will be missed.

Happy holidays! Well, here's my X-Mas present to all: the last chapter of volume 9.

The region 2 Basara DVD box is now available for purchase from Amotokyo for $118. This limited boxset must be ordered before 1/18/2002, and will be released in February, 2002.

What's more, it appears that a Legend of Basara DVD box will be coming out in Japan early 2002. All 13 episodes + a 60 min behind the scenes extra on 3 Region 2 discs for 10,000 ¥ (approx. $100). You can find more information on this page (Japanese only). If anyone knows how to preorder this from the U.S., please let me know.

10-26-01 :

First thing, Janet Losey finished translating volume 5. But that's not all. Manga Project is scanslating Basara. They've finished 2 chapters, and plan to do volumes 1-5. Seeing Basara... in English... and with such high quality... gawd, I almost teared up! Thank you MP and Janet.

Besides that, I've also linked up some haphazard manga translations and summaries from the Basara ML to the translation page. They're not much, but they're somethin'.

Volume 8 Chapter 4: Hurricane is translated. Whew. I'm finally done with manga volume 8. I'll begin summarizing soon. The site has also been moved to a new server for faster uploads and more stability. As a result, the music files are down...for now.

Volume 8 Chapter 3: New World is finally complete. The music page is redone. I've decided to host only 3 files at a time, and rotate weekly. Hope that works. Also added some stuff to the manga volume page.

Site finally back online. It was down for more than a month, and during that time, I've completed redesigned it. I also gave it a name "Midori," which means green in Japanese.

For those of you who noticed the site's absence, here's the story. About a month ago, Tripod deleted my account because they said I violated some sort of agreement with them. This was actually a blessing in disguise, because it motivated me to get off my lazy butt and do some work on the site. Other than the new look, I've also moved the whole site to a new server, so there will be no more pop up ads! Whoo-hoo! Hopefully this arrangement will last a while.

Now that this huge load is off my shoulder, I can finally get back to translating... and procrastinating. ^_^
