Brick & Mortar / Online Stores
|
- Mandarake japanese manga
- Online Store: No, but email them and they'll do a mail order.
- Brick & Mortar: Based in Japan, with a store in Santa Monica (California)
- Sells: Used manga & artbooks & doujinshi & etc.
- Comments: They sell a huge selection
of used manga at half price, and they come highly recommended by me. They don't
list all the stuff they sell on their website and you cannot order directly from
the website. In order to buy from them, either visit the store in person, or email
them about the stuff you want and if they have it, you can do a mail order. AFAIK,
they do ship anywhere in the US.
- Price: $3.50 per tankôbon
- Book-Off japanese manga
- Online Store: Yes. (Japanese only)
- Brick & Mortar: Based in Japan, with a store in
New York &
Los Angeles
- Sells: New & used manga & artbooks & books
- Comments: A great brick & mortar store.
They have a decent selection of manga. And they are VERY CHEAP! I seriously recommend anyone who lives
in the LA or NYC area to visit their store in person.
- Price: ~$2 per tankôbon
- Kinokuniya japanese manga
- Online Store: No.
- Brick & Mortar: Based in Japan, with stores in - New York City, Edgewater (New Jersey), San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Austrailia, Thailand
- Sells: New manga & artbooks
- Comments: Kinokuniya is the biggest
Japanese bookstore chain in America, with an outlet in almost every major city.
However, they do not do business online. You must go to an actual brick and mortar
Kinokuniya store in order to buy the manga you want. Their selection is good, but
their prices are a bit steep.
- Price: ~$6 per tankôbon
- Asahiya japanese manga
- Online Store: Yes. (Japanese only)
- Brick & Mortar: Based in Japan, with stores in - New York City, Los Angeles, Torrance, San Diego, Arlington Heights (Illinois)
- Sells: New manga & artbooks
- Comments: Very similar to Kinokuniya
in all aspects. Asahiya is another Japanese bookstore chain with outlets in several
major US cities. Their selection is good, but
their prices are a bit steep.
- Price: ~$6 per tankôbon
- Animate japanese manga
- Online Store: Yes.
- Brick & Mortar: Based in Japan, with a store in Los Angeles
- Sells: New manga & artbooks & doujinshi & etc.

the price is cheaper than Kinokuniya & Asahiya.
- Price: ~$6 per tankôbon
- Sasuga Books japanese manga
- Online Store: Yes.
- Brick & Mortar: Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
- Sells: New manga & artbooks
- Comments: A decent shopping site.
If they don't have Basara in stock, they'll special order it from Japan,
though you will have to wait 4-6 weeks. They accept credit card orders through their
website and they do ship internationally. Each order must be at least $20.
- Price: ~$6 per tankôbon ; $160 for all 27 volumes

- Planet Anime japanese manga
- Online Store: Yes.
- Brick & Mortar? No.
- Sells: New manga & anime & artbooks & collectibles
- Comments: Their selection is limited, but they've
got all of Basara in stock. Since they're based in North America, shipping within the US is relatively
inexpensive.
- Price: ~$6 per tankôbon
- YesAsia chinese manga
- Online Store: Yes.
- Brick & Mortar: No.
- Sells: Chinese DVDs, VHS, manga, etc.
- Comments: They sell the DARAN edition
of Basara, which is in Chinese. The site has very nice user interface, similar to Amazon.
One version of this site seems to be based in North America, while separate versions exist for
other countries.
- Price: ~$6 per tankôbon ; $25 for 5 books
- Chinese Online chinese manga
- Online Store: Sort of. Email them and do a mail order.
- Brick & Mortar: No. (Based in California)
- Sells: Chinese manga
- Comments: They sell the DARAN edition of Basara,
which is in Chinese. The quality of the Chinese Basara is decent. But since I've never
ordered from Chinese Online, I cannot attest to their quality as a store.
- Price: $4.80 per tankôbon

- Acclimate Solution japanese manga
- Online Store: Yes.
- Brick & Mortar: Dunno. (Based in Japan)

- Amazon Japan japanese manga

how to navigate)
- Brick & Mortar: No. (Based in Japan)
